Unless you are an on-call doctor, give your phone a rest while at the gym, detach for just this short time, and have your time working out be just about you and what your are currently engaged in.
Researchers asked volunteers to do an isometric shoulder exercise until they had to quit because of fatigue. The kicker? They had to perform the move while doing mental arithmetic.
